Naked Trump Satirical Statue Goes on Display at European Parliament

A satirical statue depicting US President Donald Trump naked has been put on exhibit inside the European Parliament building in Strasbourg, France. Created by renowned Danish artist Jens Galschiot, the provocative installation aims to critique Trump's political posture and his controversial legacy regarding global environmental governance.

The 2.5-meter artwork, titled "Orange Plague" and also known as the "King of Injustice," is coated in 23-karat gold. It portrays the US leader holding a long gold golf club while perching on the shoulders of an overburdened, sinking man. Explanatory cards alongside the exhibit cite a satirical pledge blaming Trump for obstructing international climate initiatives: "I would do anything to help him. Except stepping down from his back."

Danish Member of the European Parliament Per Clausen, who invited Galschiot to showcase the piece, dismissed concerns over potential backlash from the United States. "If someone is so thin-skinned that they cannot tolerate this sculpture being exhibited in the European Parliament, then they have no place on the world stage," Clausen stated regarding the display.

The installation stands at a key corridor connecting two European Parliament buildings and is scheduled to remain in place through Thursday. Prior to its Strasbourg showing, the sculpture was exhibited in various European cities and appeared at the COP30 UN climate conference in Belem, Brazil, while Trump has issued no public response to the work.
