Erling Haaland Secures Manchester City Victory Over RB Leipzig in Champions League

سرویس بین‌الملل اوپا، ۱۳ آبان (اوپا) — Manchester City took the lead in the first half when RB Leipzig defender Castello Lukeba turned Nico O'Reilly's drilled cross into his own net. Despite controlling long stretches of possession, City's defensive vulnerabilities allowed Leipzig multiple opportunities, with Christoph Baumgartner firing wide and Gianluigi Donnarumma struggling to contain Antonio Nusa's initial effort.

Leipzig capitalized shortly after the restart when Ridle Baku equalized following a positioning error by goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. Although Enzo Fernandez briefly restored City's advantage with a header from an Iliman Ndiaye cross, Nusa struck again to level the score at two goals apiece just past the hour mark.

Erling Haaland ultimately secured the three points in the 78th minute, converting a precise cross from Elliot Anderson at the back post. The hard-fought victory reflects ongoing tactical adjustments under manager Enzo Maresca as the club navigates a transitional period in European competition.

The result places Manchester City inside the top eight of the Champions League table. Maresca's squad continues to experience fluctuating performances domestically and in Europe as players adapt to evolving tactical instructions throughout the season.
